Pioneer Tank Lines IncDispatch Assistant Pioneer Tank Lines is looking for a Dispatch Assistant to join our team . This position will be responsible for coordinating and dispatching our local drivers while also supporting the day-to-day dispatch of our over-the-road fleet. The Dispatch Assistant will work closely with drivers, customers, brokers, and our Dispatch team to coordinate loads, communicate changes, and help keep freight moving when plans change. We are looking for someone who already has a strong understanding of the transportation industry and OTR fleet operations and, most importantly, has the ability to learn, solve problems, adapt when plans change, and work effectively with a wide variety of personalities. About Pioneer Tank Lines Pioneer Tank Lines is a small, family-owned transportation company specializing in hazardous materials and hazardous waste. Safety is a top priority for our drivers and the public. We operate nationwide, primarily throughout the Upper Midwest, with a mix of dedicated and varied freight. Our operation includes both local and over-the-road drivers and a variety of customers and freight. The Position Coordinate and dispatch local drivers and loads. Assist with coordinating and dispatching OTR drivers. Communicate with drivers regarding load information, schedules, changes, and special instructions. Work with customers and freight brokers to book and coordinate loads. Monitor loads and communicate delays, changes, or other issues. Enter and maintain accurate load information in ProTransport. Assist with driver scheduling and load planning. Help resolve driver, customer, and operational issues as they arise. Maintain accurate dispatch records and documentation. Provide occasional after-hours support when driver, customer, or operational needs arise. Qualifications Minimum of 2 years of experience in operations, logistics, or dispatch within an OTR trucking fleet. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Must be a self-starter who can work independently but also as part of the team. Comfortable working with a diverse group of drivers, customers, brokers, and coworkers. Courteous, confident and professional when communicating information, changes, and instructions. Able to work well under pressure and quickly adjust priorities when circumstances change. Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and follow-through. Comfortable using Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Excel, Word, and Teams. Comfortable learning and working with transportation software and technology. Experience with ProTransport, Samsara, Hours of Service regulations, or hazmat transportation is helpful.
