Dispatch Assistant

Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Dispatcher to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in managing the flow of transportation and logistics operations. This position requires excellent communication skills and the ability to analyze situations quickly to ensure efficient dispatching of freight and fleet management. Responsibilities Coordinate and schedule transportation activities to ensure timely delivery of goods. Communicate effectively with drivers, clients, and other stakeholders using phone systems. Analyze transportation routes and schedules to optimize efficiency and reduce costs. Manage supply chain logistics by ensuring that all freight is dispatched according to company standards. Utilize dispatching and transportation software, to track shipments and manage fleet operations. Maintain accurate records of all dispatch activities, including communications and changes in schedules. Provide exceptional customer service by addressing inquiries and resolving issues related to transportation. Requirements Proven experience in dispatching or a related field within transportation management. Knowledge of some dispatch communications, communicating with drivers, understanding hours of service and over the road operations Strong communication skills with an emphasis on phone etiquette. Familiarity with supply chain processes and fleet management practices. Ability to analyze data and make informed decisions quickly. Proficiency in using phone systems, dispatching software, and Microsoft. A proactive approach to problem-solving with a focus on efficiency and customer satisfaction. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple tasks effectively.
