Director, Strategic Vendor Management
LaddersFor our client, we are seeking a Director, Strategic Vendor Management to join the team of a leader in the Legal & Accounting space. This role will lead enterprise-wide vendor strategy and governance, with a strong focus on service delivery, cost discipline, and operational effectiveness. The Director will serve as a key partner to finance and business leaders to strengthen vendor performance, improve the end-to-end supplier experience, and support budget management across critical third-party relationships. This position also offers the opportunity to shape a vendor management function that aligns oversight, negotiation, and review processes with broader organizational needs. Location: San Francisco, CA - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available Compensation: $220,000 – $250,000 annually Responsibilities Serve as executive owner for key vendor relationships and develop vendor strategies Establish and manage vendor performance metrics and conduct reviews Monitor and improve vendor service delivery and resolve issues Lead the Vendor Management Office and align governance with business needs Oversee travel vendor relationships and user experience Partner with finance on budgeting and vendor negotiations Manage vendor budgets and identify opportunities for cost savings Qualifications Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree a plus 10+ years of experience in vendor management or related fields Experience leading complex vendor relationships and initiatives Preferred experience in law, professional services, or financial services Strong skills in developing vendor strategies and governance frameworks Experience managing budgets and financial performance Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship management skills Benefits Health, dental, and vision insurance Life and disability insurance Retirement & Savings Plan Emergency back-up child and adult care Paid vacation and sick time off Professional development opportunities Employee wellness and assistance programs Our client is an equal opportunity employer.
