🌎 Director of Strategic Sourcing Job Description We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Strategic Sourcing Leader to drive global sourcing strategy, optimize material costs, strengthen supplier partnerships, and mitigate commodity and supply chain risks in a manufacturing environment. Global strategic sourcing expertise and direct experience sourcing both copper and aluminum are mandatory for this role. Key Responsibilities 🌎 Lead Global Sourcing Strategy: Develop and execute long-term strategies for direct and indirect categories, leveraging international supplier markets and global purchasing opportunities. 💰 Drive Cost Optimization: Deliver measurable cost savings, cost avoidance, supplier consolidation, and purchasing efficiencies through strategic negotiations and detailed cost analysis. 📊 Manage Commodity Exposure: Monitor copper and aluminum pricing, market trends, tariffs, foreign market dynamics, and supply risks to inform purchasing decisions and negotiation strategies. 🤝 Lead Supplier Relationships: Negotiate and manage complex supplier agreements covering pricing, volume commitments, service levels, quality, delivery, and commodity-price adjustment mechanisms. 🔍 Strengthen Supplier Performance: Establish performance metrics, scorecards, corrective action plans, and supplier improvement initiatives. 🏭 Support Manufacturing Continuity: Partner with Operations, Finance, Engineering, and Quality to optimize inventory, maintain material availability, and minimize disruptions to production. 📈 Advance Cost Modeling & Analytics: Evaluate material costs, processing expenses, freight, and total cost of ownership to identify and prioritize savings opportunities. 👥 Provide Procurement Leadership: Direct, coach, and develop procurement personnel and analytics resources while establishing clear priorities, accountability, and performance expectations. Job Requirements Required Qualifications — Must Have 10+ years of progressive experience in strategic sourcing, procurement, supply chain, commodity management, or category management, preferably within manufacturing or an industrial environment. MANDATORY: Global strategic sourcing experience. Demonstrated success developing and executing sourcing strategies involving international suppliers and markets, beyond domestic purchasing. MANDATORY: Direct copper and aluminum sourcing experience. Candidates must have personally managed sourcing, supplier negotiations, commercial agreements, or purchasing strategies for both copper and aluminum . 5+ years of experience leading, managing, or developing procurement, sourcing, or related analytical teams. Proven track record of delivering measurable cost savings, cost avoidance, and improved commercial outcomes. Strong understanding of commodity markets, price fluctuations, cost drivers, supplier risk, total cost of ownership, and long-term supply agreements. Experience with supplier consolidation, cost modeling, pricing mechanisms, contract risk management, and strategic negotiation. Experience sourcing specialized insulation materials, ideally enamels, tapes, or polymers. Demonstrated ability to lead procurement strategy and direct procurement personnel and analytics functions, rather than managing individual categories alone. Strong analytical, financial modeling, forecasting, communication, and cross-functional leadership skills.
