This role is accountable for optimizing cost-to-serve, ensuring regulatory compliance, and delivering reliable service performance while leading teams and managing carrier and fleet operations.This role oversees a team of leaders, executes strategy at the regional level, and drives cross-functional results.Key ResponsibilitiesLead regional transportation strategy execution to optimize cost, service, and operational performanceOversee fleet operations and third-party carrier relationships, including contract negotiation and performance managementPartner with Distribution Operations, Customer Service, Finance, HR, Legal, and Quality to drive aligned outcomesEnsure compliance with all transportation regulations and company policiesOwn and manage the regional transportation budget, identifying opportunities to improve cost-to-serve and financial performanceDrive implementation of national transportation initiatives and ensure alignment with customer delivery expectationsEstablish and monitor KPIs related to cost, service, and network performanceLead and develop a team of managers and individual contributors, fostering a high-performance, engaged cultureAct as an escalation point for complex operational issues impacting service, cost, or delivery performanceTranslate strategic priorities into actionable plans and ensure successful execution across the regionTravel up to 20%QualificationsMinimum:Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Logistics, Engineering, or related field10+ years of progressive experience in transportation, logistics, or distribution, including leadership experienceProven experience managing transportation operations, carriers, and cost-to-serve performanceStrong financial acumen with experience managing budgets and driving cost efficiencyDemonstrated ability to influence stakeholders and lead cross-functional initiativesPreferred:Post-graduate certification (e.g., CITT)Experience in regulated industries (e.g., pharmaceutical distribution)Direct-to-store delivery (DSD) or last-mile transportation experienceExperience with Transportation Management Systems (TMS) and routing optimization toolsExperience in fleet management and carrier sourcingBilingual (English/French) an assetWe are proud to offer a competitive compensation package at McKesson as part of our Total Rewards. The pay range shown below is aligned with McKesson's pay philosophy, and pay will always be compliant with any applicable regulations.
