Onboard Systems International is the leading global provider of external cargo handling equipment for civil and military helicopters. Founded nearly 50 years ago, the facility in Vancouver, WA has a growing product portfolio including mechanical cargo hooks and suspension systems, proprietary weighing systems and a Human External Cargo (HEC) line of equipment. In addition to serving every major OEM, the company heavily targets helicopter owners like municipals, fire, search and rescue operators and utility companies. In total, we serve over 1,000 customers around the world.

Shift: Mon-Fri 8:00am – 5:00pm
The Director of Supply Chain will support our aerospace design and manufacturing facility. As we continue to scale, we are seeking a dynamic leader who is eager to contribute to building and shaping a high-impact organization. What You’ll Do
Strategic Supply Chain Leadership- Develop and execute a comprehensive supply chain strategy aligned with company goals and growth trajectory.
- Lead the maturation of supply chain processes, tools, metrics, and systems to support scalable operations.
- Drive performance improvements in quality, delivery, cost control, compliance, and supplier reliability.
Supplier Management- Oversee procurement operations and manage buyer(s) to ensure efficient, compliant, and cost-effective purchasing.
- Lead supplier selection, qualification, negotiations, and ongoing performance management.
- Establish and maintain Long-Term Agreements (LTAs), VMI programs, and strategic supplier partnerships as required.
- Drive competitive sourcing strategies, including make/buy analyses and supplier competitions.
Operational Execution- Develop effective inventory control strategies, material planning techniques, and demand-driven replenishment processes.
- Support New Product Introduction (NPI) activities with supply chain readiness, sourcing strategies, and early supplier involvement.
- Partner with Engineering, Quality, Operations, and Finance to ensure seamless product flow, risk mitigation, and aligned business objectives.
- Solve operational challenges hands-on when needed, setting the example for a high-performance, service-oriented supply chain team.
- Develop a customer fulfillment strategy that exceeds customer expectations meeting differing demand expectations between aftermarket, repair and OEM customers.
Risk Management & Compliance- Ensure compliance with aerospace industry standards, regulatory requirements, and customer specific mandates.
- Develop risk-reduction strategies related to supply continuity, geopolitical exposure, quality issues, and market volatility.
- Implement and monitor KPIs for supply chain performance and reporting.
Who You Are
- 10+ years of progressive experience in supply chain, procurement, or materials management; aerospace or complex manufacturing strongly preferred.
- Demonstrated experience leading supply chain functions, including supplier management, procurement strategy, and inventory planning.
- Strong understanding of supply chain compliance, quality expectations, and regulatory requirements in aerospace/defense (e.g., AS9100).
- Proven ability to lead, mentor, and develop a small but high-impact team.
- Ability to operate at both strategic and tactical levels—comfortable setting vision and executing hands-on tasks.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
- Champion for continuous improvement and optimization.
- Experience with NPI and scaling supply chains for rapidly growing product lines.
- Familiarity with ERP/MRP systems and modern supply chain tools.
- Background managing VMI, LTAs, cost-out programs, and supplier performance initiatives.
- Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, Engineering, Business, or related field (master’s degree a plus).
