Director of Supply Chain
Robert HalfWe helping our client who is looking for an experienced supply chain leader to oversee end-to-end planning, purchasing, inventory, and logistics operations for a manufacturing environment in Collierville, Tennessee. This role is responsible for improving service levels, controlling costs, and strengthening operational accuracy through effective forecasting, supplier management, and cross-functional coordination. The ideal candidate brings a strategic mindset and hands-on leadership style to support dependable material flow, safe operations, and on-time customer delivery. Responsibilities: • Lead integrated planning, procurement, inventory, warehousing, and distribution activities to maintain reliable product availability and efficient operations. • Partner with planning teams to translate demand trends into supply strategies that support customer commitments and production schedules. • Track forecast changes, volume expectations, and operational indicators to identify risks, adjust plans, and improve performance. • Establish and monitor key supply chain metrics related to cost, quality, delivery, inventory health, and service outcomes. • Evaluate stock levels and material flow to increase inventory turns, minimize excess and obsolescence, and enhance fulfillment performance. • Work closely with sales, finance, production, engineering, and quality teams to align supply chain priorities with business objectives. • Build and manage supplier relationships through performance reviews, forecasting discussions, site evaluations, and ongoing feedback. • Drive process improvements across purchasing, material requirements planning, receiving, storage, and logistics to increase efficiency and accuracy. • Support new product introductions, engineering updates, and other operational changes to ensure smooth transitions in sourcing and production flow. • Develop warehousing, reverse logistics, and environmentally responsible supply chain practices that support business and sustainability goals. • 7+ years of experience in supply chain, logistics, procurement, or materials management, including leadership responsibility. • Strong background in manufacturing and distribution environments with proven oversight of end-to-end supply chain functions. • Experience with demand planning, purchasing processes, inventory control, and supplier performance management. • Ability to analyze operational and financial data using tools such as Microsoft Excel and Power BI. • Familiarity with ERP systems, including JDE EnterpriseOne or comparable platforms. • Demonstrated success improving service, reducing cost, and optimizing inventory within a complex supply chain operation. • Effective cross-functional communication skills with the ability to influence teams, suppliers, and business partners. • Knowledge of global supply chain practices, logistics networks, and continuous improvement methods.
