Director of Purchasing
Fluid Motion, LLCFluid Motion, LLC is seeking an experienced Director of Purchasing to lead our purchasing organization and support the continued growth and efficiency of our manufacturing operations. Schedule: Monday–Friday, 5:30 AM–2:00 PM Work Environment: On-site The Director of Purchasing will develop and implement procurement strategies focused on cost reduction, supply chain optimization, supplier relationships, quality, and compliance. This position will oversee approximately 6,500 SKUs and play a key role in strategic sourcing and purchasing operations. Key Responsibilities Lead and manage the Purchasing Department, including team development and performance. Develop purchasing strategies, policies, procedures, and budgets. Negotiate with suppliers and drive cost savings through competitive bidding and strategic sourcing. Manage supplier relationships, pricing, quality, delivery, and performance. Identify and mitigate supply chain risks and develop contingency plans. Evaluate and implement an ERP system to improve purchasing and inventory processes. Monitor market trends, material costs, and regulatory changes affecting procurement. Partner with Engineering, Manufacturing, Operations, Finance, and other departments. Establish purchasing metrics and identify opportunities for continuous improvement. Travel periodically for supplier meetings and industry events. Qualifications 5+ years of purchasing/procurement experience, preferably in manufacturing. 3+ years of supervisory or management experience. Strong experience in strategic sourcing, supplier negotiations, and cost reduction. Experience with ERP systems; ERP implementation experience preferred. Strong leadership, communication, negotiation, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Proficiency with Microsoft Office. Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Operations, or related field preferred. Marine industry experience preferred. Physical & Safety Requirements Ability to work in a non-climate-controlled manufacturing environment. Ability to sit at a computer for extended periods and occasionally stand, walk, bend, reach, and lift up to 25 pounds. Must be able to stand for extended periods when necessary.
