Director of Operations

 

The job of Director of Operations is for the purpose/s of leading the management of the overall operations of the District; providing information and serving as a resource to others; achieving defined objectives by developing, implementing, maintaining, and evaluating systems and services in compliance with established guidelines; and serving as an integral member of the leadership team.

 

This job reports to Assistant Superintendent.

 

Qualifications
Education/Certification:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business/human relations related field
  • Master’s degree in business/human relations, preferred

 

Special Knowledge/Skills:

  • Extensive organizational skills
  • Proficient skills in accounting
  • Advanced knowledge of spreadsheet and word processing applications
  • Use of computers
  • Good communication skills
  • Ability to interface with staff and administration
  • Aptitude for detailed work
  • Supervisory skills
  • Organizational skills

Experience:

  • Three years successful business related experience in a school district, preferred

Essential Funcations:

  • Assess operations of the District for providing information, recommendations, and planning for program review.
  • Collaborate with a wide variety of stakeholders for addressing organizational objectives.
  • Compile a variety of data for analyzing issues, ensuring compliance with policies and procedures, and monitoring program components.
  • Develop a variety of systems and plan for ensuring District goals for infrastructure and operations are met.
  • Monitor department activities for ensuring that performance objectives are met within budget and in compliance with established operational practices.
  • Oversee department operations for providing guidance and support to department staff while ensuring department goals are achieved.
  • Participate in a wide variety of meetings for conveying and gathering information necessary to the operations of the department.
  • Present information on a wide variety of topics for conveying information, gaining feedback, and making recommendations regarding district operations.
  • Recommends solutions to a wide variety of complex issues for addressing the operational needs of the district.
  • Respond to inquiries from a variety of stakeholders for identifying relevant issues, recommending solutions, and implementing action plans.
  • Supervise personnel for ensuring achievement of department and District operational goals.
  • Serve as alternate Clerk of Board of Education.
  • Performs other related duties, as assigned, for ensuring the efficient and effective functioning of the work unit.
