Description
Position Purpose:
As a key member of the Senior Leadership Team, the Director of Operations provides strategic leadership over all core operations functions – for shipping, receiving, warehouse, assembly, production, laboratory operations, and procurement. This role builds team culture, develops strong team members, architects predictable, efficient, and scalable processes, and delivers consistent results through disciplined standards and continuous improvement.

Leadership & Team Performance
- Lead, coach, and develop supervisors and frontline teams
- Establish clear expectations, accountability, and performance standards
- Build a culture of ownership, problem-solving, and continuous improvement
- Address performance gaps decisively and fairly
- Collaborate and align with senior leaders for overall business achievement
Operational Execution
- Own daily operations across shipping, receiving, warehouse, production, assembly, lab, and procurement
- Ensure work is performed according to defined processes in Quality system—not tribal knowledge
- Reduce firefighting by stabilizing systems and workflows
Process Improvement & Lean Thinking
- Implement practical Lean manufacturing or similar methodologies
- Identify waste, bottlenecks, and variability; lead corrective actions
- Drive standard work, visual management, and continuous improvement
- Optimize warehouse layout to support the above
Planning, Capacity & Inventory
- Own planning, scheduling, and capacity management across functional areas
- Balance labor, equipment, and material availability
- Implement effective inventory management and cycle counting
- Improve labor efficiency and labor absorption
Systems & Metrics
- Leverage ERP & WMS tools (NetSuite, RF Smart experience a plus)
- Establish and manage KPIs for throughput, on-time delivery, labor efficiency, and inventory accuracy
- Use data to drive decisions and accountability
Requirements
Requirements:
- 7+ years of experience leading manufacturing and/or warehouse management
- 10+ years of experience in manufacturing and/or warehouse management
- Proven record of impactful lean manufacturing principles, process optimization, and supply chain management
- Proven record leading high-trust, high-performing cultures
- Bachelor's degree in operations management, business, engineering, or related field
- Medical device and regulated product experience a plus
- Familiarity with regulatory frameworks (FDA, EPA, ISO 13485) a plus
- Experience operating in ERP/WMS, NetSuite & RF Smart a plus
- Formal lean certification a plus
Salary & Benefits:
- Salary range of $160,000 to $190,000 plus annual bonus based on performance/profitability
