Role Overview


Canvana, LLC is seeking a Director of Operations to serve as the company’s first full-time W-2 employee and operational leader. This role will be responsible for overseeing all day-to-day operations of Canvana’s valet trash services platform, including management of 1099 field contractors, onboarding of new properties, service quality execution, and operational scaling.


The Director of Operations will act as the primary operational liaison between Canvana and Lynd Labs leadership, providing regular reporting on performance, growth, and operational risks while building the foundation for future expansion.


This is a hands-on leadership role suited for a highly organized operator who can manage people, processes, and growth in a contractor-driven service business.



Key Responsibilities


Operations & Service Delivery

    •    Oversee daily execution of valet trash collection services across all active properties

    •    Ensure consistent service quality, compliance with operational standards, and client expectations

    •   Monitor service issues, missed collections, and operational exceptions; ensure uninterrupted service by finding a replacement or stepping in when porters call out or do not report to work

    •    Maintain and enforce Canvana’s operational SOPs and service procedures



Contractor (1099) Management


    •    Recruit, onboard, and manage independent contractor field staff

    •    Serve as primary point of contact for contractor performance, scheduling coordination, and issue resolution

    •    Ensure contractors are properly onboarded, trained on SOPs, and compliant with contractual requirements

    •    Coordinate contractor coverage for new and existing properties as the portfolio scales


Property Onboarding & Growth

    •    Lead operational onboarding of new properties into the Canvana program

    •    Coordinate with property ownership, management teams, and internal stakeholders during launches

    •    Develop repeatable onboarding processes to support efficient scaling

    •    Support growth initiatives by ensuring operational readiness for new markets or properties


Reporting & Leadership Communication

    •    Provide regular operational reporting to senior leadership at Lynd Labs, including:

    •    Property count and onboarding status

    •    Contractor staffing levels and coverage

    •    Service performance metrics and issues

    •    Growth and capacity considerations

    •    Identify operational risks, bottlenecks, and opportunities for improvement


Process Development & Scaling

    •    Build foundational operational processes suitable for a growing services platform

    •    Recommend tools, workflows, and systems to improve efficiency and visibility

    •    Assist in planning future hires and organizational structure as Canvana scales



Qualifications


Required

    •    5+ years of experience in operations, field services, logistics, property services, or a similar environment

    •    Proven experience managing field staff or independent contractors

    •    Strong organizational and execution skills with attention to detail

    •    Ability to operate independently as the first internal hire in a growing business

    •    Strong communication skills and comfort reporting to senior leadership

    •    Ability to balance hands-on execution with strategic thinking


Preferred

    •    Experience in multifamily, property management, or recurring service businesses

    •    Experience onboarding new clients, properties, or locations

    •    Familiarity with contractor-based operating models

    •    Startup or early-stage company experience

Work Location

    •    Office / field-oriented, with travel to properties out of state, as needed
