Director of Operations (3PL Warehousing)

We are looking for a Director of Operations with significant logistics, and preferably 3PL working experience to organize and oversee the daily operations of our company. You will be the one to ensure that our business is well-coordinated and productive by managing its procedures and coaching its people. The area of responsibility for this role is very wide and thus requires thorough knowledge of various company processes. The ideal candidate must be competent and able to plan many different kinds of operational activities some of which are, at time customer facing. They must be an excellent leader who can discover the most efficient ways to run the business. The goal is to safeguard and augment the efficiency of the company’s operations to facilitate accelerating development and long-term success. Major Duties and Responsibilities: Develops strategic plans Identifies key activities and priorities Implements and communicates operational strategies Partner with the other Directors of Operations and other departments heads within the organization Sets and manages performance targets Ensures staffing levels are met and managed Directs the activities of employees Develops and maintains strong relationships with customers and business associates Ensures all policies and standard operating procedures for department are maintained and followed Troubleshoots and resolves major customer complaints Develops and mentors the Operations team Performs other duties as assigned Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Strong knowledge of transportation functions (ocean in bound, customs, clearance and warehousing) Strong leadership skills Excellent organizational skills Excellent oral and written communication skills Strong level of interpersonal skills to work effectively with others Strong problem solving skills; ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues Ability to multi-task in a high volume fast paced environment Computer literate and proficient in MS Office and WMS Experience working for a 3PL strongly preferred Job Type: Full-time Pay: $120,000.00 - $140,000.00 per year Benefits: 401(k) 401(k) matching Dental insurance Health insurance Life insurance Paid time off Retirement plan Vision insurance Application Question(s): How many years of experience do you have as a manager or senior leader on the warehousing side of logistics?
