Director of Manufacturing & Supply Chain Operations

Horsham PA| Full-Time | On-Site A privately held, growth-oriented product company in the Greater Philadelphia area is seeking a hands-on Director of Operations to lead day-to-day operations and strengthen the systems, processes, and team needed to support continued growth. This is a broad leadership role with responsibility across operations, inventory, fulfillment, supply chain, outsourced manufacturing, quality, compliance, operational projects, and employee management. The Director will work closely with senior leadership and will be expected to take increasing ownership of operational decision-making, problem-solving, team leadership, and execution. The ideal candidate is someone who can operate strategically while remaining highly involved in the details of the business. This role is well suited for a leader who enjoys improving processes, developing teams, solving operational challenges, and building structure within an entrepreneurial environment. Key Responsibilities Lead day-to-day operations across warehouse, inventory, fulfillment, processing, and related functions. Manage and develop an experienced operations team while strengthening communication, accountability, cross-training, and performance. Oversee the order-to-delivery process, including inventory availability, production coordination, fulfillment, and customer delivery timelines. Improve forecasting, replenishment, purchasing, inventory control, and production-planning processes. Manage relationships with suppliers, contract manufacturers, toll manufacturers, and other external production partners. Monitor supplier and manufacturing-partner performance across quality, cost, capacity, lead times, delivery, and continuity of supply. Oversee warehouse operations, material handling, shipping and receiving, quality-control processes, documentation, and traceability. Lead operational projects and new initiatives from planning through implementation. Coordinate sourcing, packaging, suppliers, manufacturing partners, schedules, and fulfillment requirements for new programs. Support regulatory, quality, and technical documentation processes in a compliance-driven environment. Develop and improve SOPs, KPIs, operating controls, reporting, and cross-functional processes. Use ERP, accounting, inventory, and other business systems to improve operational visibility and decision-making. Identify opportunities to use technology, automation, and AI to improve efficiency. Oversee domestic and international shipping and other operational administrative processes. What We’re Looking For 8–12+ years of progressive experience in operations, manufacturing, supply chain, or a related discipline. Meaningful people-management and team-development experience. Experience managing both internal operations and outsourced or contract manufacturing strongly preferred. Strong background in inventory management, purchasing, production planning, fulfillment, supplier management, and continuous improvement. Experience in a quality-driven or regulated product environment is highly desirable. Relevant industries may include food or ingredients, consumer products, pharmaceuticals, OTC products, specialty chemicals, packaging, supplements, personal care, or related manufacturing environments. Experience in a privately held, entrepreneurial, or middle-market organization is preferred. Demonstrated success developing processes, SOPs, KPIs, controls, and operational discipline. Strong project-management, organizational, analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills. Experience with ERP, accounting, inventory, or manufacturing systems. International shipping experience is a plus. Comfort adopting new technologies and using automation tools to improve operations. Bachelor’s degree preferred; equivalent experience will be considered.
