Bonfire BurritosAbout the Role Bonfire Burritos is seeking an experienced Director of Food Safety & Production to lead the food-safety, quality, regulatory, and manufacturing functions at our Production and Distribution Center in Golden, CO! This is a senior leadership position with broad accountability across both food-safety and production operations. As Bonfire's senior food-safety authority, the Director will own the facility's food-safety and quality management systems, including HACCP, GMPs, sanitation, allergen control, traceability and recall, preventive controls, and regulatory readiness, while ensuring compliance with applicable USDA/FSIS, FDA and other regulatory requirements. Beyond compliance, this role holds Director-level accountability for production performance, capacity and planning, throughput, labor efficiency, yield and waste, downtime, staffing strategy, and operational scalability. The Director will lead and develop the Production Manager and USDA/FSIS and FDA production organization while working closely with Procurement, Inventory, Maintenance, Facilities, Distribution, Human Resources, and Executive Leadership. We're looking for someone who can see the full picture: protecting the safety and quality of our products, building strong and sustainable systems, developing people, improving manufacturing performance, and helping us scale our production operations. Key Responsibilities Food Safety Leadership: Own, administer, maintain, and continually improve the facility's food-safety policies, SOPs, HACCP plans, prerequisite programs, GMP program, Food Safety Management System, and applicable preventive controls. Establish annual food-safety and quality priorities, program objectives, KPIs, and improvement plans aligned with operational and regulatory expectations. Monitor applicable USDA/FSIS, FDA, federal, state, local, customer, and industry requirements and maintain required licenses, registrations, plans, and records. Serve as Bonfire's internal subject matter expert for HACCP, GMPs, sanitation, allergen management, traceability, preventive controls, and food-safety risk management. Lead the development, implementation, and ongoing maintenance of future certification programs, including USDA Organic and Non-GMO certification, as applicable. Communicate significant food-safety, quality, and regulatory risks to Executive Leadership. HACCP, GMPs & Preventive Controls: Validate and verify hazard analyses, Critical Control Points, critical limits, monitoring procedures, verification activities, and corrective action requirements. Oversee supplier approval, allergen control, food defense, pest control, traceability, mock recall, document control, and nonconforming product programs. Review HACCP, GMP, sanitation, allergen, environmental monitoring, and production records for completeness, accuracy, and regulatory compliance. Lead root-cause investigations and Corrective and Preventive Action (CAPA) programs involving process deviations, nonconforming products, sanitation concerns, audit findings, customer complaints, foreign-material contamination, and other regulatory issues. Audit & Regulatory Compliance: Serve as the primary company representative for USDA/FSIS, FDA, customer, third-party, and other regulatory audits and inspections. Lead audit and inspection preparedness, on-site coordination, written responses, corrective actions, and verification of findings through closure. Maintain continuous audit readiness through internal audits, program effectiveness reviews, open-finding tracking, and escalation of overdue or high-risk items. Maintain applicable licenses, registrations, food-safety plans, regulatory records, and supporting documentation.
