Reporting to the VP, Procurement for Tim Hortons, this position is responsible for leading procurement for various strategic food and beverage categories and for new “Limited Time Offer” products to support the Tim Hortons North America restaurants. The role will require industry analysis, benchmarking, and financial modeling to develop and execute strategic sourcing strategies and negotiations. The position liaises with Marketing, Operations, Quality Assurance, Supply Chain, Legal and Finance functions to support Tim Hortons business priorities.

 

Responsibilities

  • Develops and executes procurement strategy that aligns with business strategy for assigned categories including sourcing and contingencies

  • Researches, analyzes, and interprets industry and market trends

  • Negotiates and executes business tenders; leads contractual conversations and execution liaising with cross functional teams

  • Develops competitive benchmarks and financial models to analyze offers and deals to determine viability and profitability

  • Assesses business risks associated with the procurement of goods or services in assigned categories and ensures transparency of risk to organization

  • Sources, onboards, and nurtures new vendors while also managing the termination of vendors, when applicable

  • Measures supplier performance, identifies performance improvement initiatives and supports corrective actions as required

  • Assesses commodity hedging strategies relevant to categories and executes hedges with raw material suppliers to provide supply stability and improve restaurant profitability

  • Drives purchase cost savings initiatives which consistently improve restaurant profitability

  • Acts as point of contact with select vendors in assigned category to resolve issues impacting restaurant owners

  • Oversees and project manages a pipeline of hundreds of new SKUs being onboarded and launched at the Tim Hortons system

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Supply Chain or Engineering preferred

  • MBA with Supply Chain or Finance specialization or CPA/CFA designation preferred

  • 10+ years of progressive experience in Supply Chain, Operations or Procurement in North American Fast Food restaurants or Food and Beverage Manufacturing

  • Team player with strong communication and problem-solving skills as well as leadership capabilities

  • Develops financial models to analyze deals and offers to determine viability and profitability

  • Strong analytical skills (researching, analyzing and interpreting data)

  • Exceptional organizational abilities, time management and interpersonal skills

  • Category specific purchasing experience preferred

  • QSR, food processing, retail or CPG experience preferred

  • Advanced level in Microsoft Office (Excel, Powerpoint, etc.)
