Business Title Director, Global Sourcing Job Purpose To lead the expansion of ASP Global's direct and indirect sourcing coverage, building category strategies and cost savings capability in categories with limited existing sourcing infrastructure. This role stands up Global Sourcing's Indirect Sourcing function from the ground up, drives strategy and savings delivery across direct spend categories, and partners with the Sr. Director, Global Sourcing to build strategic sourcing capability within the US and China Sourcing team. The Director reports to the Vice President, Global Sourcing and is based in ASP Global's Austell, GA office, with periodic international travel to support supplier negotiations, category development, and China team engagement. The role directly manages a US-based Sourcing Specialist and a China-based Sourcing Manager and works in a functional/dotted-line capacity with the remainder of the China Sourcing team. Key Responsibilities Develop and drive ASP Global's sourcing strategy across direct materials/finished goods and newly established indirect categories, aligning category plans with business objectives. Identify, quantify, and deliver cost savings and total-cost-of-use improvement opportunities across an expanding base of addressable spend, partnering with Finance to validate and track realized savings. Build ASP Global's Indirect Sourcing function where none previously existed; defining category scope across functions such as IT, Legal, Marketing, and Administrative Services, and establishing sourcing processes, supplier evaluation criteria, and category ownership as categories are brought under management. Lead RFx processes, cost/market analysis, negotiations, and supplier selection for assigned direct and indirect categories, optimizing total landed cost. Directly manage a US-based Sourcing Specialist and a China-based Sourcing Manager, providing coaching, mentorship, and performance management. Partner with the Sr. Director, Global Sourcing in a functional/dotted-line capacity across the remainder of the China Sourcing team, focused specifically on building strategic sourcing capability that complements the Sr. Director's strengths. Travel to China several times per year to build working relationships with the China team, support live negotiations, and conduct supplier/site engagement. Establish a recurring cadence of remote category reviews, coaching sessions, and joint work on live negotiations with the China Sourcing team between site visits, ensuring capability-building continues independent of travel schedule. Develop and institutionalize strategic sourcing tools, frameworks, and training (category strategy templates, negotiation playbooks, supplier evaluation models) to raise sourcing capability across the broader US and China organization. Manage supplier relationships and performance across assigned categories, ensuring continuity of supply, quality, and cost competitiveness. Identify and mitigate supply and category risk, including geopolitical and regulatory considerations relevant to a globally concentrated, Asia-heavy supply base. Develop and track key performance indicators to measure sourcing effectiveness, including growth in total addressable spend under management, and report progress to the Vice President, Global Sourcing. Provide input on legal and commercial contract terms, indemnification, and intellectual property considerations for assigned categories. Ensure sourcing activities comply with relevant regulations and company policy.
