DIRECTOR, GLOBAL OPERATIONS (REMOTE OR HYBRID)

 

 

Job Summary:


We are seeking a strategic and results-driven Director, Retail Operations, to lead and optimize end-to-end retail operational execution across domestic and international channels. This role will oversee full scope of retail operations, order management fulfillment, logistics, warehousing, inventory control, allocations, and operational financial processes to ensure service, inventory, and cost objectives are achieved at scale.


The Director, Retail Operations will drive operational excellence across retailer, e-Commerce, and distributor channels while building scalable processes, improving cross-functional visibility, and implementing continuous improvements across the supply chain network. This leader will partner closely with Supply Chain, Finance, Sales, Planning, Customer Operations, and external logistics providers to support business growth, improve operational efficiency, and strengthen retail execution.


This role requires a highly analytical and collaborative leader with deep operational expertise, strong financial acumen, and the ability to influence cross-functional stakeholders and external partners.


As a member of the Finance & Operations organization, this role reports directly to the Executive Director, Supply Chain and partners closely with executive leadership across the business.



REMOTE or
 HYBRID (Los Angeles): This role is classified as exempt from the Fair Labor Standard Act’s overtime requirement, is remote, and open to candidates based on the east coast or in Los Angeles. The position requires working in EST hours, so candidates located on the East Coast are preferred. A reliable internet connection and a dedicated workspace free from significant distractions are essential for remote work.


For HYBRID: While the position is primarily remote, it follows a hybrid schedule requiring occasional in-person work in Culver City, CA 90230. 


This role requires flexibility for domestic travel to support operational and business needs as required.
 

 

What You’ll Do:

 

Essential Job Functions

Retail Operations & Order Management

  • Lead end-to-end retail operational execution across retailer, e-Commerce, distributor, and department store channels to ensure service, compliance, and fulfillment excellence. 
  • Oversee domestic and international order management activities, ensuring timely and accurate order processing, allocation management, shipment prioritization, and retailer compliance execution. 
  • Partner cross-functionally with Sales, Planning, Customer Operations, and Finance to align operational priorities with commercial objectives and launch timelines. 
  • Serve as the primary operational liaison between internal teams and external operational partners to drive visibility, accountability, and execution across the supply chain. 


 Logistics & Warehousing

  • Lead logistics and warehouse operations strategy across 3PLs and transportation partners with accountability for service, cost, and operational performance. 
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives across warehousing, transportation, inventory flow, freight optimization, and operational scalability. 
  • Oversee operational reviews with 3PL partners to ensure KPIs, SLAs, inventory accuracy, and service expectations are consistently achieved. 
  • Analyze short- and long-term warehouse capacity requirements and develop scalable operational solutions to support business growth. 
  • Identify opportunities to optimize inbound and outbound freight efficiencies while balancing service levels, inventory availability, and transportation costs. 


 Inventory Control & Allocations

  • Oversee inventory management strategies across retail and distributor channels, including replenishment planning, SKU productivity, inventory health, RTVs, safety stock management, and allocation execution. 
  • Partner with Planning and Finance teams to improve inventory forecasting accuracy, productivity, and working capital efficiency. 
  • Develop and manage allocation methodologies to support launches, retailer priorities, and inventory constraints while minimizing operational risk. 
  • Monitor inventory performance metrics and implement corrective actions to improve inventory accuracy, service levels, and inventory turns. 


 Financial Operations & Spend Management

  • Oversee operational spend management, invoice approvals, accrual alignment, freight and warehouse budgeting, and cost visibility initiatives. 
  • Lead warehouse and logistics spend analysis to identify savings opportunities, improve financial controls, and support annual budget planning. 
  • Develop reporting tools and dashboards to improve operational decision-making, KPI visibility, and cost transparency across the organization. 
  • Ensure operational processes align with financial controls, audit requirements, and company policies. 


 Systems, Technology & Process Optimization

  • Lead operational systems improvement initiatives across order management, warehousing, inventory management, logistics, and retailer integration platforms. 
  • Partner with IT, Finance, and external vendors to optimize ERP, WMS, EDI, retailer portal, and order management system functionality and performance. 
  • Oversee EDI transaction management and retailer connectivity to ensure accurate and timely processing of purchase orders, ASNs, invoices, routing requests, and inventory reporting. 
  • Identify opportunities for automation, system enhancements, and workflow efficiencies to improve operational scalability, data accuracy, and service execution. 
  • Drive implementation and continuous improvement of operational tools, dashboards, reporting capabilities, and integrated business processes. 
  • Support system testing, UAT execution, process documentation, and change management initiatives related to operational technology implementations and upgrades. 
  • Develop standardized operational reporting and data governance practices to improve visibility, forecasting accuracy, inventory management, and decision-making. 
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure operational systems align with financial controls, compliance requirements, customer expectations, and business growth objectives. 
  • Lead root cause analysis and corrective action initiatives related to operational system errors, EDI failures, inventory discrepancies, and order processing issues. 
  • Champion continuous improvement methodologies, including Lean and Six Sigma principles, to streamline operational processes and eliminate inefficiencies across the supply chain network. 


 Process Improvement & Leadership

  • Build and implement scalable operational processes, SOPs, and reporting structures to support organizational growth and operational maturity. 
  • Develop, implement, and manage operational KPIs and dashboards to measure execution, service, inventory, and financial performance. 
  • Lead cross-functional operational initiatives focused on process optimization, automation, systems enhancements, and customer service improvements. 
  • Mentor and develop operational team members while fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement. 
  • Collaborate with product supply, sourcing, and manufacturing partners to proactively identify and mitigate operational risks impacting service or inventory.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Operations, Business, Finance, Engineering, or related field required; Master’s degree preferred
  • 8+ years of progressive experience in retail operations, supply chain, and warehouse operations within Beauty, Personal Care, or CPG 
  • Experience managing 3PLs, warehousing, transportation, and retailer operational requirements within a beauty, personal care, or CPG environment preferred 
  • Strong understanding of inventory management, allocation strategies, retailer compliance, and operational financial management 
  • Proven experience leading operational process improvements, workflow optimization, KPI development, and cross-functional change management initiatives 
  • Lean, Six Sigma, APICS/ASCM, PMP, or other operational excellence and continuous improvement certifications strongly preferred 
  • Advanced analytical, problem-solving, and financial acumen with experience leveraging data to drive operational decisions, budgeting, spend analysis, and operational cost optimization 
  • Excellent communication, leadership, stakeholder management, and team development skills 
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, high-growth environment 
  • Advanced Excel, NetSuite, Power BI, and ERP/WMS experience preferred


Team Leadership & Oversight


Operation Manager and Logistic Manager will report directly to this role.
