Position Overview: 

Obra Capital is seeking a Director, Benefits and Human Resources Operations Professional leader to oversee and evolve the firm’s employee benefits, payroll, and HR systems across the organization and its subsidiaries. This role will be responsible for setting the overall benefits strategy while ensuring operational excellence, financial sustainability, and regulatory compliance across all programs. The ideal candidate brings deep expertise across retirement and health & welfare plans, payroll, and HRIS, with the ability to operate both strategically and hands-on in a growing alternative asset management platform. This individual will partner closely with internal stakeholders and external vendors to deliver scalable, data-driven solutions that support Obra’s employees and long-term business objectives.

 

 

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Responsible for developing and executing the overall strategy for employee benefits for the investment firms and its subsidiaries
  • Accountable for ensuring financial sustainability of all benefits plans including but not limited to benefits reconciliation 
  • Utilize data-driven insights to shape the evolution of benefits plans
  • Collaborate with existing external consultants and broker partners to manage retirement and health & welfare plans
  • Oversee all payroll processes
  • Oversee HRIS and reporting which includes any HRIS implementation
  • Manage and monitor the performance of external vendors (administrators, insurers, consultants, etc.)
  • Directly manage and provide guidance and support for LOAs and LOA vendor
  • Manage employee communications around benefits in partnership with internal and external partners
  • Responsible for benefits administration, responding to employee questions, etc.
  • Manage the Annual Enrollment process
  • Responsible for day-to-day administration, reporting, compliance and inquiries regarding the 401(k) plan
  • Manage the annual 401(k) compliance testing ,annual audit, and form 5500 processing in partnership with the accounting team and external partners
  • Responsible for Employee Handbook and other HR related policies

 

Skills & Qualifications:

  • 10-15 years of experience in employee payroll benefits administration, and management.
  • Well versed in the administration of both retirement (defined contribution) and healthcare.
  • Ability to handle issues both strategically and tactically
  • Demonstrated problem solving and strong analytical skills
  • Excellent communication skills (oral and written) with the ability to clearly explain complex topics across the organization


Compensation: 

The expected base salary range for this role is outlined below. In addition to the base salary, total compensation may include a discretionary bonus based on performance. This range given is a best faith estimate which reflects a variety of factors, including years of relevant experience, education, location and other qualifications pertinent to the position. Base salary does not include any other performance based compensation such as year end cash bonus. 
 
 $170,000 - $225,000
