Responsibilities: The Director, Accounting leads high-volume accounting operations, including Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, billing, cash application, and payment processing. This role is responsible for optimizing procure-to-pay and order-to-cash processes, strengthening internal controls, improving cash flow, and supporting scalable growth. The Director, Accounting partners closely with finance, operations, and technology teams to drive process improvement, resolve operational issues, and ensure accurate, timely, and efficient transactional accounting. Direct the strategic operations of the accounts payable, accounts receivables, and cash application teams to ensure accurate and timely processing. Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and service level agreements (SLAs) to maximize departmental efficiency and accuracy (ie: Avg Processing time, DPO, DSO and exception rates). Optimize order-to-cash and procure-to-pay workflows through automation, system enhancements, and process re-engineering. Oversee the accurate application of customer payments and the prompt resolution of unapplied cash, short payments, and billing discrepancies. Formulate and enforce robust internal controls, credit policies, and collections strategies to minimize bad debt exposure. Govern vendor relationships and internal payment policies to ensure compliance and contract terms. Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing operational accounting staff, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional growth. Collaborate with cross-functional leadership, procurement, and information technology teams to support enterprise-wide systems integration and scaling initiatives. Comply with company C-TPAT and TSA security procedures. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications: The qualifications listed below are representative of the minimum knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. SKILLS AND ABILITIES Progressive leadership experience in accounting operations, with demonstrated success managing high-volume Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and Cash Application functions. Exhibit deep, hands-on expertise with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central, including a strong understanding of its sub-ledgers, system configurations, and reporting capabilities for transactional workflows.
