Direct Support Professional/Recycling Truck Driver

Make a meaningful difference in the lives of people with disabilities. EEI is seeking a compassionate, dependable, and safety-focused Direct Support Professional with Recycling Truck Driving duties. This unique position combines direct support services for individuals with disabilities and recycling collection and transportation duties throughout the community. The ideal candidate enjoys working with people, values community engagement, and is comfortable driving a van-body truck, supervising individuals with disabilities, and helping individuals build skills and independence. Provide direct support to individuals with disabilities throughout the workday. Assist individuals with personal care needs as necessary. Safely operate EEI vehicles, including the recycling truck. Maintain a valid and current forklift certification. Ensure safe loading, unloading, transportation, and storage of recyclable materials. Supervise and support individuals during recycling routes and community activities. Maintain vehicle and route documentation, including mileage, fuel, maintenance, and material collection logs. Maintain recycling collection sites professionally in a way that reflects positively on EEI. Build positive relationships with community businesses and partners. Complete required documentation accurately and on time. Experience Desired: Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities and/or mental health needs is desired. Experience in human services, truck driving, recycling operations, manufacturing, warehouse, or industrial settings is desired. Physical Requirements: Ability to frequently bend, twist, lift, and stand for extended periods. Ability to enter and exit vehicles and the recycling truck repeatedly throughout the day. Ability to safely assist individuals with mobility needs. Work both in the community and at EEI facilities.
