Role Purpose
As a key player in our Materials department, you will be responsible for sourcing and purchasing essential materials from suppliers, ensuring timely and accurate order fulfillment.
Main Responsibilities
• Evaluate and determine the necessary quantities of food products to order, taking into account forecasts, inventory levels, lead-times, and supplier delivery schedules.
• Create and manage purchase orders efficiently.
• Reconcile purchase orders against supplier invoices and system data.
• Conduct regular inventory checks using order guides and end-of-month processes.
• Communicate with suppliers regarding any discrepancies in orders or pricing.
• Identify product overages or stockouts, liaise with management, and assist in reallocating or substituting products as needed.
• Maintain optimal days on hand (DOH) for stocked items.
• Ensure supplier contact details are current in the purchasing system.
• Collaborate on additional projects within the Materials department as required.
• Complete other duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications
• High school diploma or GED.
• 1 to 3 years of experience in materials, purchasing, or clerical roles.
• Preferred experience with SAP MM.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to thrive in a high-pressure environment.
• Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
• Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Intermediate math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division).
• Flexibility to work nights, weekends, and holidays as necessary.
