Job Summary We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Diesel Truck Mechanic to join our dynamic maintenance team. In this role, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of heavy-duty trucks, including tractor-trailers and other commercial vehicles. Your expertise will ensure our fleet operates safely, efficiently, and reliably. Your hands-on approach and attention to detail will be vital in keeping our operations running smoothly. Duties Perform comprehensive diagnostics using schematics, automotive electrical systems, and computerized testing tools to identify issues with diesel engines, transmissions, brakes, suspensions, hydraulics, and other vehicle systems. Conduct repairs and maintenance on heavy trucks, including engine overhauls, air brake systems, wheel alignments, shocks & struts, and HVAC systems. Utilize hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and fabrication techniques to repair or modify vehicle components as needed. Service and replace tires, perform wheel balancing and alignment procedures to ensure optimal vehicle performance. Maintain detailed service records, complete inspection reports, and document all repairs performed for compliance and future reference. Assist with the fabrication of parts or modifications using welding skills when necessary to improve vehicle or equipment functionality. Conduct routine inspections of fleet vehicles to identify potential issues early and perform preventive maintenance to minimize downtime. Experience Proven experience working as a Diesel Truck Mechanic or Heavy Equipment Technician within a dealership or fleet environment. Strong knowledge of diesel engine repair, transmissions, hydraulic systems, suspension components, and vehicle electrical systems. Familiarity with schematics and diagnostic tools used in automotive electrical system repair. Demonstrated ability to perform mechanical repairs on tractor-trailers and other large commercial vehicles efficiently. Certification or training in automotive diagnostics or heavy truck repair is preferred; ASE certification is a plus. Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced setting while maintaining high safety standards.
