Emmett, Idaho | Emmett Shop | $18.00–$27.00 per hour Job Overview Granite Excavation, Inc. is seeking an experienced Diesel Truck Mechanic to maintain and repair the company's semi-truck and construction fleet at the Emmett Shop. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience diagnosing and repairing diesel engines, trucks, and trailers, from routine service to more extensive mechanical work. About Granite Excavation Granite Excavation is a locally owned heavy civil construction company specializing in earthmoving, underground utilities, paving, concrete structures, and public and private construction projects throughout the region. Requirements: Key Responsibilities Diagnose, service, repair, and maintain semi-trucks, trailers, and construction fleet equipment. Identify mechanical issues through inspections, diagnostic methods, service information, and test operation as appropriate. Perform repairs and maintenance involving diesel engines and related vehicle systems. Apply working knowledge of electrical systems, air systems, hydraulics, welding, fabrication, and suspension systems. Complete scheduled maintenance and repairs to help keep fleet equipment safe, reliable, and available. Perform and document safety and maintenance checks. Maintain a safe, clean work area and follow workplace safety and environmental requirements. Communicate effectively with coworkers and customers and report equipment concerns. Qualifications At least 4 years of diesel truck mechanic experience preferred; experience working on semi-trucks and trailers is important. Valid driver's license required. CDL required for the position; CDL Class A preferred as listed in the posting. Ability to pass required pre-employment screening, including a drug test and background check where applicable. Must have and provide personal tools. Working knowledge of diesel engines, electrical systems, air systems, hydraulics, welding, fabrication, and suspension systems. Forklift certification and OSHA 10-hour or OSHA 30-hour training are beneficial. First Aid and CPR training listed as an additional qualification. Physical and Work Environment Shop-based, in-person position in Emmett, Idaho. The work is physically active and may require lifting, pulling, and moving parts or equipment. Schedule may include night or overnight shifts; confirm shift availability during hiring.
