Responsibilities Perform comprehensive diagnostics and repairs on diesel engines, transmissions, suspensions, brakes, hydraulics, and electrical systems across various heavy equipment and vehicles. Conduct routine maintenance such as oil changes, tire service, wheel alignments, and equipment inspections to ensure optimal performance and safety standards. Utilize schematics, technical manuals, and diagnostic tools to troubleshoot complex mechanical and electrical issues accurately. Fabricate parts or modify equipment using welding, hand tools, power tools, and fabrication techniques to meet specific operational needs. Repair or replace components on farm machinery, industrial equipment, excavators, cranes, forklifts, tractor-trailers, and other heavy-duty vehicles. Assist with heavy lifting tasks and perform welding or soldering as needed for equipment assembly or repair projects. Maintain detailed service records and documentation for all repairs performed while adhering to safety protocols at all times. Experience Proven experience or extensive background in heavy equipment mechanics is highly preferred. Hands-on experience with automotive diagnostics, vehicle maintenance, and mechanical systems repair is essential. Familiarity with heavy truck repair—including air brake systems, shocks & struts, HVAC systems—and automotive electrical system repair is required. Skilled in reading schematics and technical manuals for troubleshooting complex machinery issues. Experience operating heavy equipment such as excavators, cranes, forklifts, or other industrial machinery is a strong plus. Ability to perform heavy lifting safely while working with power tools or welding equipment. Strong mechanical knowledge combined with excellent problem-solving skills to diagnose issues efficiently and accurately.
