Job Overview Are you a skilled and motivated Diesel Technician/Mechanic with heavy equipment and vehicle maintenance as well as small equipment ? In this role, you'll be diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of diesel-powered machinery and vehicles. Your expertise will ensure that equipment runs smoothly, safely, and efficiently, supporting our coconstruction and trucking team. Duties Perform comprehensive diagnostics and repairs on diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulic systems, air brakes, suspensions, and electrical systems using schematics and hand tools. Conduct preventive maintenance including oil changes, tire service, alignment checks, and equipment inspections to maximize uptime. Fabricate custom parts or modifications for heavy equipment such as excavators, cranes, forklifts, or farm machinery to meet specific operational needs. Repair and service heavy equipment including industrial machinery, power tools, and vehicle systems for trucks and trailers. Utilize welding and soldering techniques for structural repairs or component fabrication while adhering to safety standards. Operate heavy machinery such as excavators or forklifts during maintenance tasks or equipment testing. Maintain detailed service records, complete inspection reports, and follow safety protocols to ensure compliance with industry standards. Experience Proven experience or extensive background working with heavy equipment and heavy truck mechanics is highly preferred. Strong knowledge of diesel engine repair, automotive diagnostics, hydraulics, suspension systems, and electrical troubleshooting. Hands-on experience with fabrication techniques including welding and custom modifications. Familiarity with schematics for electrical systems and mechanical components across various machinery types. Skilled in the use of power tools, hand tools, lifting equipment, and diagnostic software to perform repairs efficiently. Experience working on excavators, payloaders, tractors-trailers, or similar industrial or machinery is advantageous. Experience with record keeping for all equipment and truck maintenance and repair.
