Randys High Country TowingJob Title: Independent Diesel Fleet Mechanic Company: Randy's Towing Location: Colorado Springs, CO Schedule: Full-Time, Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM About the Role Randy's Towing is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Diesel Mechanic to manage our shop and maintain our fleet of heavy-duty tow trucks. In this role, you will be the primary mechanic on duty, working independently in the shop to ensure our equipment is running at peak performance. Because you will be working unsupervised, we are looking for a true self-starter who takes ownership of their workspace, efficiently manages repairs, and keeps meticulous records. Core Responsibilities Diagnose, repair, and maintain a specialized fleet of diesel tow trucks. Perform comprehensive engine work, specializing in Ford 6.7L, Cummins (7L, 9L, and 15L), and Caterpillar (C10 and C15) motors. Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain heavy-duty hydraulic systems. Manage the parts inventory, independently order necessary replacement components, and negotiate with vendors as needed. Maintain accurate, detailed service logs and preventative maintenance schedules for all vehicles. Perform custom fabrication work as needed to repair or upgrade towing equipment. Requirements & Qualifications Self-Starter: Must be highly disciplined, reliable, and capable of working completely unattended in the shop. Tools: Must have access to and provide your own professional-grade tools. Technical Expertise: Extensive hands-on experience with the specific Ford, Cummins, and Caterpillar diesel engines listed above. Hydraulics: Deep, working knowledge of complex hydraulic systems is an absolute must. Bonus Skills: Strong metal fabrication skills and a working knowledge of how tow trucks and recovery equipment operate are highly preferred. Compensation Pay is competitive and will be based on your level of experience and your level of "tool up."
