Role Description The Diesel Technician is a full-time, on-site role based in St Louis, MO, responsible for maintaining and repairing diesel trucks and related equipment. Day-to-day tasks include performing diagnostics on mechanical and electrical systems, completing routine and preventive maintenance, and carrying out engine, brake, suspension, and drivetrain repairs. The role involves inspecting vehicles for safety and compliance, documenting work performed, and coordinating with dispatch and operations teams to minimize downtime. The Diesel Technician will also communicate clearly with drivers and internal stakeholders regarding vehicle status, repair timelines, and any safety concerns. This position requires consistent adherence to company safety standards and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced shop environment. Qualifications Strong skills in Vehicle Maintenance and Maintenance & Repair, including diesel engines, braking systems, and general truck components. Experience with Preventive Maintenance, including scheduled inspections, fluid changes, and parts replacement to reduce breakdowns. Proficiency in Troubleshooting mechanical and basic electrical issues using diagnostic tools, manuals, and repair software. Ability to provide professional Customer Service when interacting with drivers, supervisors, and other team members. Relevant experience as a diesel technician or mechanic in trucking, transportation, or a similar industry. Knowledge of DOT regulations, safety practices, and documentation standards for commercial vehicles. Ability to lift and handle heavy parts and equipment, and to work in a shop environment with appropriate safety gear. Vocational training, technical school certificate, or equivalent hands-on experience in diesel technology or automotive repair is preferred.
