Diesel Mechanic – Truck & Trailer Location: San Antonio, TX 78233 Schedule: Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM–5:00 PM Pay: $800–$900 per week, based on experience Job Type: Full-time Job Description We are a transportation company looking for a dependable Diesel Mechanic to join our maintenance team in San Antonio. This position will work primarily on our fleet of International tractors , as well as reefer, dry van, and flatbed trailers . We are looking for someone with at least 1–2 years of hands-on mechanical experience who already has a basic understanding of diesel trucks and trailers. We are willing to continue training the right person, but candidates should be comfortable performing routine maintenance and common repairs. The mechanic will work alongside our existing maintenance personnel and under the direction of experienced fleet supervisors. The position will involve a variety of maintenance and repair work depending on the needs of the fleet. More complex or specialized repairs may be performed internally or sent to an outside shop when necessary. Responsibilities Perform routine maintenance, inspections, troubleshooting, and repairs on tractors and trailers Perform preventive maintenance services including oil changes, filter changes, fluid checks, and general inspections Repair and maintain brakes, suspension components, air systems, electrical components, lights, tires, and other common truck and trailer systems Assist with engine, drivetrain, and other larger repairs when needed Inspect equipment and identify mechanical or safety concerns Report issues that require additional diagnosis, major repair, or outside service Perform repairs on reefer, dry van, and flatbed trailers Follow repair instructions and maintenance priorities provided by fleet supervisors Maintain accurate service records and documentation of work performed Keep company tools, equipment, and work areas clean and organized Help keep company equipment safe, reliable, and ready for dispatch Requirements Minimum 1–2 years of experience working on diesel trucks, trailers, heavy equipment, or similar equipment Basic to intermediate knowledge of commercial truck and trailer systems Ability to perform common maintenance and repairs Basic troubleshooting and problem-solving skills Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a maintenance team Willingness to learn more advanced diagnostics and repairs Dependable and punctual Safety-conscious and detail-oriented English and/or Spanish Comfortable working outdoors and in different weather conditions Ability to bend, lift, climb, crawl underneath equipment, and perform physically demanding work What We Provide Monday–Friday schedule Full-time, stable position Company-provided tools and equipment Hands-on training and guidance from experienced fleet personnel Opportunity to gain experience working on a commercial truck and trailer fleet Consistent work maintaining company-owned equipment Work Location: In person San Antonio, TX 78233 Pay: $800.00 - $900.00 per week Application Question(s): How many years of experience do you have working on diesel trucks, trailers, or heavy equipment?
