Diesel Mechanic - Truck and Trailer Repair

Lakeshore Truck Services is hiring a Diesel Mechanic to diagnose, repair, and maintain medium and heavy-duty trucks and trailers. We’re looking for someone who takes pride in quality repairs, works safely, and communicates well with the team. Our shop services medium and heavy-duty vehicles, and trailers only—no light-duty work. Responsibilities Diagnose and repair diesel engines, fuel systems, cooling systems, and electrical systems. Inspect and service transmissions, drivelines, steering, suspension, and hydraulic and air brake systems. Troubleshoot emissions and aftertreatment systems, including DPF, DEF, and SCR systems. Perform preventive maintenance, inspections, and scheduled services. Use diagnostic software, scan tools, wiring diagrams, and service information to identify problems. Document findings, repairs, parts used, and additional service needs accurately. Verify completed repairs through operational checks and road tests when qualified. Maintain a clean, organized work area and follow shop safety procedures. Qualifications Experience repairing medium or heavy-duty trucks. Strong mechanical, electrical, and diagnostic skills. Ability to use diagnostic equipment and interpret service information. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Dependability, attention to detail, and a commitment to quality workmanship. Must have own tools. Valid driver’s license. Preferred Qualifications Technical training in diesel technology or a related field. ASE medium/heavy truck certifications. CDL or willingness to obtain one. Experience with multiple engine manufacturers and truck makes. Experience with Shopmonkey Software Work Environment This position involves working in a repair shop, standing for extended periods, bending, reaching, and handling tools and vehicle components.
