Role Overview Responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining medium to heavy-duty trucks, trailers, reefer units, converter dollies, and maintenance vehicles with minimal supervision. Ensure compliance with all State and Federal trucking regulations, and accurately document work orders, repairs, and parts used daily. Perform road call services as needed. Key Responsibilities Perform preventative maintenance, minor repairs, and component inspections on fleet diesel equipment, including tractors, trailers, and refrigeration units. Inspect brake systems, steering mechanisms, wheel bearings, and other critical parts, replacing components as necessary. Ensure equipment is properly licensed and registered for roadworthiness. Complete detailed documentation of repairs and maintenance using online asset management systems. Install, replace, and repair onboard computers; perform routine maintenance such as oil changes, battery checks, and lubrication. Utilize hand tools and power tools, including pneumatic wrenches, welding equipment, jacks, and hoists. Train other employees and perform other related duties as assigned. Qualifications & Skills High School Diploma or GED equivalent. 5-7 years of experience in medium to heavy-duty vehicle repair, including preventative maintenance, tire/wheel, brakes, electrical troubleshooting, and electronic component repair. At least 2 years of experience in A/C refrigeration systems. Proficiency with computerized diagnostics and electrical troubleshooting. Ability to work independently and follow safety and regulatory standards.
