Where You Will Be Working
Nasittuq supports operations across the North Warning System (NWS), a network of remote sites located throughout Canada's Arctic. Working in the North offers a unique opportunity to contribute to critical infrastructure while experiencing some of the country's most remote and remarkable landscapes.

This role is ideal for experienced Diesel Mechanics, Generator Technicians, Power Generation Technicians, Heavy Duty Mechanics, Industrial Mechanics, and Stationary Engine Technicians who thrive on troubleshooting mission-critical equipment and maintaining remote power generation systems that support Canada's northern defence infrastructure.
What You'll Do
• Diagnose, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain industrial diesel generator systems, prime power units, standby generators, and associated electrical distribution equipment supporting North Warning System operations.
• Perform preventive, corrective, and predictive maintenance on diesel-powered power generation systems and supporting infrastructure.
• Troubleshoot and repair Caterpillar (CAT), Cummins, Deutz, Detroit Diesel, MTU, and similar industrial diesel engines and generator packages.
• Conduct generator inspections, performance testing, fault analysis, and load assessments to ensure maximum reliability and operational readiness.
• Service diesel engine systems including fuel injection systems, cooling systems, lubrication systems, air intake systems, turbochargers, engine controls, voltage regulators, alternators, and battery systems.
• Maintain and troubleshoot generator controls, switchgear, transfer switches, electrical distribution systems, and remote monitoring equipment.
• Analyze equipment performance data and identify required repairs, overhauls, lifecycle replacements, and reliability improvements.
• Support operation and maintenance of site facilities, mechanical systems, power generation infrastructure, and utility systems.
• Perform maintenance and repairs on heavy equipment, fleet vehicles, mobile support equipment, compressors, portable generators, snow-clearing equipment, ATVs, snowmobiles, and other site assets as required.
• Support petroleum, oil, and lubricant (POL) operations, including fuel sampling, fuel quality monitoring, and fuel off-loading activities.
• Assist with aircraft loading and unloading activities and support site logistics operations.
• Provide technical guidance and mentoring to site personnel regarding generator operation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and safety procedures.
• Complete maintenance records, work orders, inspection reports, and technical documentation within the maintenance management system.
