Running Horse, LLC is an oilfield logistics company based in New Town, ND, specializing in trucking water and sand. We have been in business since November 2011, and our fleet includes over 50 trucks and more than 70 trailers. Our mechanics operate within a HEATED facility featuring eight bays and two wash bays, primarily focusing on servicing 379 and 389 Peterbilt trucks, as well as vacuum trailers. The majority of our fleet is powered by CAT C15 engines, alongside a selection of Cummins motors. Running Horse maintains a fleet of over 45 trucks and an equal number of vacuum trailers, including several hopper bottoms. Our shop is equipped with in-floor heating, traditional heating systems, two sets of movable lifts, and a well-stocked inventory of parts. We are seeking a candidate with EXCEPTIONAL MECHANICAL, ORGANIZATIONAL, AND COMMUNICATION SKILLS! The Mechanic position involves: Diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining heavy-duty trucks and trailers Performing preventative maintenance and inspections Troubleshooting mechanical, electrical, and engine-related issues Organizing and prioritizing daily repair and maintenance workloads Communicating effectively with drivers, mechanics, and the Shop Manager regarding equipment needs and repairs Ensuring paperwork and work orders are completed accurately and promptly Maintaining a high level of professionalism, workmanship, and shop cleanliness Working efficiently and cooperatively with other members of the shop team Running Horse Mechanic: Overview of Operations at Running Horse, LLC At Running Horse, the Mechanic is entrusted with significant responsibilities and a high degree of trust. To ensure every mechanic is positioned for success, we have learned through experience that placing an individual directly into a new environment without first becoming familiar with our equipment, procedures, and expectations may not always lead to optimal outcomes. Therefore, we require that candidates first familiarize themselves with Running Horse and our policies. This training period, during which they learn from the Shop Manager and experienced mechanics and shop personnel, typically lasts for a minimum of ninety days. Required Qualifications: A minimum of four years of experience in a diesel shop environment. Experience working on heavy-duty trucks and trailers. Strong mechanical and troubleshooting skills. A valid Driver’s License is mandatory (Class A is preferred). Strong communication and teamwork skills are essential for success within our organization. Proficiency in computer systems and software. Strong organizational abilities and attention to detail. Demonstrated quality control expertise. Ability to work independently while also contributing to a team environment. Experience with CAT C15 and/or Cummins engines is preferred. Experience with Peterbilt 379/389 trucks and vacuum trailers is preferred.
