On Call Heavy Equipment Operator when needed. As a Diesel Mechanic, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the optimal performance and longevity of our vehicles and equipment. In this position, you will be responsible for promptly and efficiently diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining our company vehicles, trailers, and related equipment. A successful Mechanic must possess a combination of technical know-how, excellent communication skills, and a passion for customer service. Collaboration with the Shop Manager and adherence to safety protocols are essential for success in this role. The hours for this position are Monday thru Friday and on rotation Saturdays. Primary Job Functions: Conduct timely repairs and preventive maintenance on vehicles and equipment, following specifications and utilizing OEM software, tools, and technologies. Install, replace, re-build, or repair parts and equipment to meet industry standards and customer satisfaction. Coordinate with the Shop Manager to schedule repairs and preventative maintenance, ensuring efficient workflow. Authorize or assist in scheduling dealer, shop, and field repairs while applying warranties appropriately. Demonstrate proficiency in using various tools required for vehicle repairs and maintenance. Utilize computer skills for diagnostic purposes and complete paperwork accurately and in a timely manner. Maintain a clean and safe work area, complying with corporate and OSHA standards. Interpret failure modes through vehicle computer electronics systems to initiate or assign necessary repairs. Other duties as assigned Qualifications: Experience and/or Education 1+ years of experience in truck and/or trailer mechanics. 1+ years of experience in Aluminum & Steel welding. Skills: Ability to provide a high level of customer service to drivers and customers. Must have a team-orientated attitude & openness to help wherever needed. Strong attention to detail. Must have strong ability to operate efficiently, in a fast-paced high-volume environment. Must have strong ability to think critically and solve problems. Physical activities include walking, lifting, twisting, turning, climbing a ladder, must be able to lift 50 lbs, etc Must be willing to work in inclement weather May be exposed to loud noise, vibration, exhaust fumes, paint-dust, and other environmental conditions. Technical Knowledge: General knowledge of safe job practices & regulations related to OSHA, MSHA and DOT requirements. Proficiency operating modern maintenance technology systems.
