Overview Join our dynamic team as a Diesel Mechanic Fleet Technician and become a vital part of maintaining and repairing our diverse fleet of heavy equipment, trucks, and industrial machinery. You will be responsible for diagnosing issues, performing repairs, and conducting preventative maintenance on a wide range of vehicles and equipment, including excavators, cranes, forklifts, farm machinery, and more. Responsibilities Perform comprehensive diagnostics and repairs on diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulic systems, air brakes, suspension components, and electrical systems across various heavy equipment and vehicles. Conduct routine maintenance such as oil changes, tire service, alignment checks, shocks & struts replacement, and brake repairs to ensure optimal performance. Utilize schematics and technical manuals to troubleshoot complex mechanical issues accurately. Operate heavy machinery including excavators, cranes, forklifts, tractors-trailers, and other industrial equipment safely and efficiently. Fabricate parts or modifications using welding and hand tools to meet specific repair needs or enhance equipment functionality. Maintain detailed records of all repairs performed, parts used, and maintenance schedules to ensure compliance with safety standards. Assist with vehicle assembly or disassembly as needed for major repairs or upgrades while adhering to safety protocols. Qualifications Proven experience working as a Diesel Mechanic or Heavy Equipment Technician within a dealership or industrial setting. Strong mechanical knowledge of diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics, HVAC systems, suspensions, and electrical systems. Skilled in automotive diagnostics using schematics and electronic testing tools; familiar with automotive electrical system repair. Hands-on experience with heavy truck repair, vehicle maintenance for fleet operations, welding, soldering, and equipment repair. Ability to operate power tools safely for heavy lifting, tire service, alignment adjustments, and component replacements. Knowledge of heavy equipment operation including excavators, cranes, forklifts, farm machinery; familiarity with Caterpillar or similar brands is a plus. Excellent customer service skills for interacting with drivers and team members effectively. Physical ability to perform manual labor involving heavy lifting and working in various environmental conditions.
