Job Overview We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Diesel Mechanic Fleet Technician to join our dynamic maintenance team. In this role, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a diverse fleet of heavy equipment, trucks, and industrial machinery to ensure optimal performance and safety. Responsibilities Perform comprehensive diagnostics and repairs on diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulic systems, air brakes, suspension components, and electrical systems across a variety of heavy equipment and vehicles. Conduct routine maintenance such as oil changes, tire services, wheel alignments, and fluid replacements to maximize vehicle lifespan and safety. Utilize schematics and technical manuals to troubleshoot complex mechanical and electrical issues efficiently. Fabricate parts or modify equipment using welding, hand tools, power tools, and fabrication techniques to meet specific operational needs. Repair and maintain farm machinery, excavators, cranes, forklifts, tractor-trailers, industrial equipment, and other heavy-duty machinery. Perform inspections on heavy equipment operation including excavators, cranes, and forklifts to ensure compliance with safety standards. Assist in the assembly of new equipment or machinery components as needed while adhering to safety protocols. Maintain detailed service records for all repairs and maintenance activities to ensure accurate documentation for future reference. Support customer service efforts by providing technical guidance and clear communication regarding repair timelines and procedures. Experience Proven experience working as a Diesel Mechanic or Heavy Equipment Technician Strong mechanical knowledge with hands-on experience in automotive diagnostics, vehicle maintenance, and heavy truck repair. Familiarity with schematics for electrical systems, hydraulics, HVAC systems, and transmissions is essential. Experience operating heavy equipment such as excavators, cranes, forklifts, or farm machinery is highly preferred. Skilled in the use of hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and soldering techniques for equipment repair and fabrication projects. Knowledge of automotive electrical systems repair along with the ability to troubleshoot complex vehicle systems efficiently. Ability to perform heavy lifting safely while working on large machinery or vehicle components. Excellent customer service skills with a focus on clear communication and problem-solving in fast-paced environments.
