Transdev is now hiring a Second Shift Diesel Mechanic for our shop serving City of Thornton! Transdev in Thornton, CO is seeking a Diesel Mechanic to bolster our team. This role demands expertise in diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining diesel engines across various vehicles and equipment. As a Diesel Mechanic, you'll play a crucial role in ensuring safety, efficiency, and longevity for our vehicles. The shift schedule is Monday - Thursday, 1:00pm - 11:30pm. Company paid ASE testing, and training materials Key Responsibilities As a Diesel Mechanic with Transdev, you will help maintain and repair to ensure vehicle readiness & safety. Other major job duties include: Perform preventative maintenance (PMs), safety inspections, and annual maintenance inspections. Diagnose and perform all phases of vehicle and equipment repair including brakes, suspensions, engines, drivetrains, transmissions, and other repairs. Ensure work orders are completed accurately. Obtain four (4) ASE Certifications within one (1) year of employment. Assist with road calls and emergency services as necessary. Qualifications Valid driver’s license required. At least 3 years of automotive or diesel maintenance & repair employment experience or a combination of technical school education & experience. Possess a mechanic’s tool set ASE certifications preferred. Must be willing to participate in company ASE certification program (company training, testing, and bonuses provided!) Subject to DOT drug testing. DOT Regulation 49 CFR Part 40 does not authorize the use of Schedule I drugs, including marijuana, for any reason. Physical Requirements The essential functions of this position require the ability to: Intermittent sitting, standing, stooping, crouching, walking, lifting of light and heavy objects, climbing ladders/stairs/ramps or scaffolding, and using tools and equipment that require a high degree of manual dexterity. Required to sit, stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle, feel, talk, hear, to reach with hands or arms, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, and smell. Must be able to lay on back on a mechanic’s dolly to work underneath motor vehicle equipment. Must regularly lift and/or move up to fifty pounds and occasionally lift and/or move more than one hundred pounds. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
