In this dynamic position, you will be responsible for diagnosing, servicing, and repairing a wide range of diesel-powered machinery, including trucks, construction equipment, and industrial vehicles. Duties Perform comprehensive diagnostics on diesel engines to identify issues accurately. Conduct repairs and maintenance on heavy equipment such as excavators, cranes, forklifts, tractors, and farm machinery, ensuring all work meets safety standards. Repair and replace transmissions, brakes (including air brake systems), suspensions, hydraulics, and steering components to optimize vehicle performance. Fabricate parts or components as needed using welding, soldering, hand tools, power tools, and fabrication techniques to meet specific repair requirements. Inspect and service vehicle systems including HVAC units, electrical wiring, tire service, alignment, and powertrain components for maximum efficiency. Maintain detailed service records of repairs performed and parts used; interpret schematics for complex troubleshooting. Operate heavy equipment safely during repairs or testing procedures to ensure proper functionality post-service. Skills Proven experience or extensive mechanic experience with heavy-duty diesel engines. Strong mechanical knowledge of industrial equipment, farm machinery, excavators, cranes, forklifts, and tractor-trailers. Skilled in welding, fabrication, soldering, and assembly techniques for custom repairs or modifications. Experience with automotive diagnostics tools and electrical systems troubleshooting. Ability to perform brake repair, transmission servicing, hydraulics work, suspension adjustments and alignments effectively. Familiarity with heavy equipment operation for testing repairs safely; knowledge of HVAC systems on vehicles is a plus. Capable of heavy lifting and working with power tools in a fast-paced environment while maintaining safety standards. Excellent customer service skills to communicate repair needs clearly to the team members when necessary.
