Duties Perform comprehensive diagnostics and repairs on diesel engines, including troubleshooting electrical systems, fuel systems, transmissions, and hydraulics. Conduct routine maintenance such as oil changes, tire services, brake repairs, suspension checks, and air brake system inspections to keep equipment in optimal condition. Utilize OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) schematics and diagnostic tools to accurately identify issues and execute precise repairs on construction machinery, farm equipment, excavators, cranes, forklifts, and other heavy machinery. Fabricate parts or components as needed using welding, hand tools, power tools, and fabrication techniques to ensure custom solutions for complex repair scenarios. Service and repair various types of industrial equipment including Caterpillar machinery, tractor-trailers, HVAC systems on vehicles, and electrical systems for heavy equipment operation. Maintain detailed service records, complete inspection reports, and document all repairs performed to ensure compliance with safety standards and warranty requirements. Assist with heavy lifting tasks and perform equipment assembly or disassembly during major repairs or upgrades. Qualifications Proven experience as a Diesel Mechanic or Heavy Equipment Technician with dealership experience preferred. Strong mechanical knowledge with expertise in diesel engine diagnostics, electrical diagnostics, transmission repair, hydraulics, suspension systems, and air brake systems. Skilled in reading schematics and technical manuals; familiar with OEM specifications for various brands such as Caterpillar or similar heavy equipment manufacturers. Proficient in the use of hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, soldering tools, and other maintenance-related hardware. Ability to perform heavy lifting safely while maintaining attention to detail during complex repairs. Experience working with construction machinery maintenance or servicing construction equipment is highly desirable. Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly about technical issues to clients or team members. Valid certifications in automotive repair or diesel engine repair; additional certifications in HVAC or electrical systems are a plus.
