Diesel Mechanic Apprentice/Concrete Line Pump Operator

We are seeking to add a motivated Junior Diesel Mechanic/Pump Operator to our growing team. The junior mechanic position is responsible for assisting mechanics in troubleshooting, repairing, and performing preventative maintenance on all types of diesel engines, concrete pumps, vehicles, equipment and hand tools within the company’s fleet. The candidate will also perform concrete pump operator duties as assigned. Duties and Responsibilities: · Assist senior mechanics in diagnosing mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and diesel engine issues. · Perform preventive maintenance services, including oil changes, filter replacements, lubrication, and fluid inspections. · Inspect concrete line pump trucks, trailers, and support vehicles for safety and operational readiness. · Assist with repairs to engines, brakes, suspension systems, hydraulic systems, and electrical components. · Maintain accurate service and maintenance records. · Help troubleshoot and repair equipment breakdowns in the shop and occasionally in the field. · Clean and organize the maintenance shop, work areas, and tools. · Participate in mechanic training, safety meetings, and technical development programs · Keep ongoing workload repair tickets in an orderly state. Report to Supervisor weekly on total workload. · Keep a quality set of personal tools to perform tasks & repairs as needed. · Work in an environment which requires frequent lifting, reaching, pushing, pulling, climbing, twisting, bending, and standing. NOTE : The Junior Mechanic position is also responsible for cross training on concrete line pumping and attaining their ACPA Certification to fill in for that department as needed. Education, Skills, and Experience: · Vocational training or technical school education in diesel technology (Preferred). · Previous experience working on diesel engines, construction equipment, or heavy trucks (Preferred). · Basic mechanical aptitude and understanding of hand and power tools. · Ability to follow instructions and learn diagnostic and repair procedures. · Ability to work safely around heavy equipment and construction machinery. · Highschool diploma or GED equivalent required. · Must pursue personal development opportunities and commit to remaining current within the field of work. · Must have driver’s license and access to transportation. · Ability to pass a DOT medical exam. · Ability to pass a drug test and background check. · Must be able to effectively communicate with customers and co-workers by providing accurate, meaningful, courteous and timely responses to their questions or concerns.
