TRIUMPH TRANSPORTATION LLC NOW HIRING – DIESEL MECHANIC Location: Metropolitan Detroit, MI Position: Diesel Mechanic – School Bus Fleet Job Type: Full-Time / Part-Time Job Description Triumph Transportation LLC is seeking an experienced and dependable Diesel Mechanic to inspect, maintain, diagnose, and repair our fleet of school buses and commercial vehicles. The ideal candidate will have strong mechanical troubleshooting skills, work independently, and ensure all vehicles meet safety and operational standards. Key Responsibilities Perform routine preventive maintenance and repairs on diesel-powered school buses and commercial vehicles. Diagnose and repair engines, transmissions, brakes, steering, suspension, and electrical systems. Conduct vehicle safety inspections and identify mechanical deficiencies. Perform oil changes, filter replacements, fluid checks, and other scheduled maintenance. Troubleshoot mechanical issues using diagnostic equipment. Maintain accurate maintenance and repair records. Ensure vehicles comply with applicable DOT and Michigan school bus safety requirements. Respond to emergency breakdowns and assist with vehicle repairs as needed. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment. Qualifications Previous experience as a diesel mechanic, preferably working on school buses, trucks, or commercial vehicles. Knowledge of diesel engines, air brake systems, and electrical diagnostics. Ability to diagnose and repair mechanical problems independently. Must have a valid driver’s license. Michigan mechanic certification in applicable repair categories preferred. CDL with Passenger (P) and School Bus (S) endorsements is a plus. Must be dependable, detail-oriented, and safety-conscious.
