Job Overview Jensen Sand and Gravel is looking for an experienced Diesel Mechanic to join our team! We are a small, family-owned mining operation looking for someone dependable, hardworking, and experienced with diesel trucks and heavy equipment. This is a full-time position with steady hours in a hands-on working environment. WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR: Diesel mechanic experience Experience working on heavy machinery and mining equipment Experience with graders and other heavy equipment Knowledge and experience working on Mack trucks Ability to troubleshoot, diagnose, repair, and perform preventative maintenance Comfortable working independently and tackling a variety of mechanical repairs Dependable and safety-minded CDL is a plus. Full-Time Hours Competitive pay based on experience compensation will be discussed during the interview. Duties Perform comprehensive diagnostics on diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics, air brakes, and electrical systems using schematics and diagnostic tools. Conduct repairs and maintenance on construction machinery such as excavators, cranes, forklifts, and farm equipment to ensure reliable operation. Fabricate parts or components as needed using welding and hand tools to meet OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) specifications. Troubleshoot equipment issues across heavy equipment operation, suspension systems, HVAC systems, and electrical diagnostics to identify root causes efficiently. Service and repair vehicle components including brake systems, tires, alignments, powertrain assemblies, and HVAC systems to maintain safety standards. Maintain detailed service records, follow safety protocols during all repairs, and ensure compliance with industry regulations. Assist with equipment assembly, welding projects, and general maintenance tasks to support ongoing operations. Experience Proven experience working as a Diesel Mechanic or Service Technician in a dealership or heavy equipment environment. Strong background in construction machinery maintenance, automotive repair, and industrial equipment troubleshooting. Familiarity with OEM parts catalogs, schematics interpretation, electrical diagnostics, and heavy equipment operation. Hands-on experience with fabrication techniques such as welding and metalworking using power tools. Knowledge of diesel engine diagnostics, transmission repairs, air brake systems, hydraulics, suspension components, and tire service. Ability to read technical manuals and schematics accurately while applying mechanical knowledge effectively. Excellent customer service skills combined with the ability to perform heavy lifting safely in a fast-paced setting.
