Job Overview We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Diesel Mechanic to join our dynamic maintenance team. In this role, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of heavy-duty equipment, including construction machinery, industrial equipment, and machinery. Your expertise will ensure that all equipment operates efficiently and safely, supporting our operations across various sectors. Responsibilities Perform comprehensive diagnostics and repairs on diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics, air brakes, suspension systems, and electrical systems using schematics and OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) specifications. Conduct routine maintenance such as oil changes, tire service, brake repairs, alignment, and equipment inspections to prevent downtime and extend equipment lifespan. Troubleshoot complex issues with heavy equipment including excavators, cranes, forklifts, tractors, and other construction machinery using automotive diagnostics and electrical diagnostics tools. Fabricate parts or components as needed using welding, hand tools, power tools, and fabrication techniques to ensure optimal performance of machinery. Maintain detailed service records, repair logs, and inspection reports while adhering to safety standards and operational protocols. Assist with heavy lifting tasks and perform heavy equipment operation when required to facilitate repairs or inspections. Support customer service efforts by communicating repair status clearly and providing expert advice on equipment maintenance needs. Experience Proven experience working as a Diesel Mechanic with a strong background in heavy equipment maintenance and repair. Dealership experience is highly preferred for familiarity with OEM parts and diagnostic procedures. Hands-on experience with construction equipment servicing such as excavators, cranes, bulldozers, and loaders. Skilled in electrical systems troubleshooting including HVAC (Heating, Ventilation & Air Conditioning) systems on heavy machinery. Knowledge of schematics for electrical wiring diagrams and hydraulic systems is essential. Demonstrated ability to use welding equipment, soldering tools, power tools, and hand tools effectively. Experience performing automotive repair tasks such as tire service, brake repair, transmission work, and suspension adjustments.
