Diesel Mechanic

Overview We are seeking a skilled and motivated Diesel Mechanic to join our dynamic maintenance team. In this role, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of heavy-duty diesel-powered equipment and vehicles. Your expertise will ensure that our fleet operates safely, efficiently, and reliably across various industries including transportation. Responsibilities Perform comprehensive diagnostics on diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulic systems, air brakes, and electrical systems using OEM schematics and advanced diagnostic tools. Conduct repairs and maintenance on heavy equipment such as school buses. Fabricate parts or components as needed using welding, cutting, and hand tools to ensure proper fit and function. Troubleshoot equipment issues efficiently by analyzing schematics, electrical diagnostics, and mechanical systems to identify root causes. Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance to prolong equipment lifespan and optimize performance. Maintain accurate service records, work orders, and documentation for all repairs performed. Qualifications Proven experience as a Diesel Mechanic. Strong mechanical knowledge of heavy equipment. Proficiency in electrical diagnostics, automotive diagnostics, hydraulics, schematics reading, and troubleshooting heavy equipment operation issues. Skilled in the use of hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, soldering techniques, and other maintenance tools. Ability to perform heavy lifting safely while working on vehicle components.
