Diesel Mechanic

Rucoba & Maya Construction, LLC is a Kyle, Texas Civil Contractor specializing in concrete and masonry. We are looking for an experienced diesel mechanic to keep our heavy equipment and truck fleet running and our crews working. This is a hands-on role for someone who takes pride in preventing breakdowns, not just fixing them. WHAT YOU'LL DO Diagnose, service, and repair diesel engines, hydraulic systems, electrical systems, brakes, and drivetrains on heavy construction equipment — excavators, skid steers, loaders, backhoes, compactors, and similar units. Service and repair the company's Ford F-350 diesel trucks and other fleet vehicles, including engine, transmission, suspension, brakes, A/C, and tires. Perform scheduled preventive maintenance: oil and filter changes, fluid service, greasing, belts, hoses, and aftertreatment/DPF service. Troubleshoot using diagnostic software, hand tools, and service manuals; read and interpret schematics. Respond to equipment breakdowns in the field and make repairs on job sites when needed. Keep accurate records of work performed, parts used, and hours per unit. Maintain shop organization, tools, and parts inventory; request parts and supplies as needed. Follow all company and OSHA safety procedures and wear required personal protective equipment. WHAT YOU NEED [3]+ years of hands-on diesel mechanic experience on heavy equipment, fleet vehicles, or both. Own set of hand tools. The company provides shop equipment and specialty tools. Valid driver's license and an acceptable driving record. Ability to read and follow service manuals, schematics, and repair orders. Able to lift up to 50 pounds, work outdoors in all weather, and work in confined or awkward positions. Legally authorized to work in the United States. Must pass a pre-employment drug screen. REQUIREMENTS CDL Class A or B Welding and fabrication experience Experience with hydraulic systems and diesel aftertreatment systems Familiarity with construction equipment OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification Bilingual English and Spanish.
