Company Overview Pacific Topsoils Inc. is a leading supplier of topsoils and landscape construction materials, serving residential and commercial customers since 1978. Pay: $35.00–$42.00 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications. This position is hourly and nonexempt; overtime is paid in accordance with applicable law. Position Summary Pacific Topsoils is seeking an experienced Diesel Mechanic to help maintain and repair our fleet of approximately 50 heavy-haul trucks and associated trailers. Work includes preventive maintenance, diagnosis, troubleshooting, and repair of diesel-powered equipment. Essential Duties and Responsibilities · Diagnose mechanical and equipment issues on heavy-duty trucks and trailers. · Perform scheduled preventive maintenance and inspections on trucks and trailers. · Troubleshoot and repair engines, differentials, transmissions, hydraulic systems, electrical systems, fuel systems, air conditioning, tarp systems, and suspension systems. · Follow company policies, safe work practices, and applicable safety procedures. · Communicate diagnoses, repair status, and completed work accurately to the manager, verbally and in writing. · Work professionally with coworkers and vendors. · Prioritize repairs in a fast-paced environment while maintaining workmanship and safety standards. Required Qualifications · At least one year of experience diagnosing and repairing diesel trucks. · High school diploma or equivalent. · Valid driver’s license. · Ability to perform the essential duties safely, with or without reasonable accommodation. Preferred Qualifications · Experience with Kenworth trucks and Cummins engines. Physical Demands and Work Environment Work regularly involves standing, crouching, kneeling, climbing ladders, and reaching above shoulder level, as well as lifting, pushing, or pulling items weighing 50 pounds or more.
