Diesel Mechanic

Job Summary: Diesel Technicians perform diagnostics, repair work, and maintenance for trucks/trailer and heavy equipment. Supervisory Responsibilities: None. Duties/Responsibilities: Preventative/scheduled maintenance and repairs to vehicles, which may include light and heavy trucks, heavy equipment, tractor/trailers, and other motor vehicles. Performs tests on specific parts and systems to ensure proper function. Identifies mechanical problems either visually or with computer diagnostic equipment. Repairs or replaces malfunctioning parts and systems such as brake pads, belts, water pumps, transmissions, and other mechanical parts. Test drives vehicle to confirm safe and proper operation. Performs other related duties as assigned. Required Skills/Abilities: Extensive knowledge of all aspects of heavy machinery/vehicle repair. Excellent mechanical repair skills. Ability to use power and hand tools. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. Must have good driving record and clean drug screen. Education and Experience: High school diploma or equivalent required. 3-5 years relevant experience required. CDL, ASE, and/or OEM certifications preferred. Physical Requirements: Must be able to bend, stretch, kneel, and squat to perform repairs and inspections. Must be able to lift 50 pounds at times. Must be able to work safely in a noisy area with many odors present. Benefits: Flexible scheduling- Part-time and full-time positions: day, evening, and weekend shifts available.
