Diesel Mechanic

About the Position Fun Bus is seeking an experienced Diesel Mechanic to help maintain and repair its fleet of passenger buses and commercial vehicles. This position is ideal for a dependable, detail-oriented mechanic who takes pride in quality repairs, preventative maintenance, and keeping vehicles safe and road-ready. Responsibilities Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair diesel engines, vehicle systems, and related equipment. Perform routine preventative maintenance and major and minor mechanical repairs. Identify mechanical, electrical, and other vehicle performance issues. Conduct diagnostic testing and maintain compliance with DOT and applicable safety requirements. Assist with annual DOT vehicle inspections and preparation. Document maintenance, inspections, and repairs accurately using paper and electronic records. Maintain parts inventory, equipment, tools, and shop cleanliness. Work with the maintenance team to identify problems and determine appropriate repairs. Identify and remove unsafe vehicles from service when necessary. Follow company safety procedures, OSHA guidelines, and proper PPE requirements. Required Qualifications Minimum 2 years of professional diesel mechanic experience. Strong mechanical troubleshooting and diagnostic skills. Experience with vehicle maintenance, repairs, and preventative maintenance. Ability to work independently and collaboratively. Strong attention to detail and commitment to vehicle safety. Ability to communicate effectively in person, by phone, text, email, and in writing. Ability to meet background check and drug screening requirements. Availability for occasional evening, weekend, or holiday work as needed. Preferred Qualifications ASE certifications. Valid Ohio Commercial Driver's License (CDL). Experience maintaining buses, motorcoaches, or other heavy-duty commercial vehicles. Basic knowledge of electrical, plumbing, and carpentry repairs. Benefits & Perks Starting pay of $30.00 per hour.
