Responsibilities Perform comprehensive diagnostics on diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics, air brakes, and electrical systems to identify issues accurately. Conduct routine maintenance such as oil changes, filter replacements, tire service, and brake repairs to prevent breakdowns. Troubleshoot and repair construction machinery, farm equipment, excavators, cranes, forklifts, and other industrial equipment using schematics and OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) specifications. Fabricate parts or components as needed using welding, hand tools, power tools, and fabrication techniques to ensure proper fit and function. Maintain heavy equipment by inspecting suspensions, alignments, HVAC systems, electrical wiring, and hydraulic systems for optimal performance. Assist with heavy lifting tasks and perform heavy equipment operation when required for repairs or testing purposes. Document all repair activities meticulously and communicate effectively with team members to ensure timely completion of maintenance tasks. Experience Proven experience as a diesel mechanic with dealership experience preferred. Strong mechanical knowledge of heavy construction machinery, industrial equipment, and vehicle maintenance procedures. Skilled in electrical diagnostics, automotive diagnostics, equipment troubleshooting, and schematic reading. Hands-on experience with fabrication techniques including welding and soldering; familiarity with power tools essential. Knowledge of heavy equipment operation including excavators, cranes, forklifts, tractors-trailers, and other construction machinery. Ability to perform detailed inspections on air brake systems, transmissions, suspensions, HVAC units, tires, and hydraulic components.
