Overview Diamond Trail Sales is a used truck and trailer dealership that has been in business for over 16 years. We are looking to add to our team a Diesel Mechanic to become a vital part of repairing a wide range of heavy-duty trucks, trailers, and miscellaneous equipment. In this energetic role, you will leverage your mechanical expertise to troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair diesel engines and related systems, ensuring equipment operates safely and efficiently. Your hands-on skills will support the dealership in selling quality used equipment to our customers. Duties Perform comprehensive diagnostics on diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics, air brakes, and electrical systems using schematics and diagnostic tools. Conduct repairs and maintenance on construction machinery, farm equipment, excavators, cranes, forklifts, and tractor-trailers to OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) standards. Fabricate parts or components as needed using welding, hand tools, power tools, and fabrication techniques to ensure proper fit and function. Troubleshoot equipment issues such as suspension problems, alignment concerns, HVAC systems, and electrical diagnostics to minimize downtime. Service heavy equipment including excavators, cranes, loaders, and other construction machinery by performing scheduled maintenance or emergency repairs. Assist with equipment assembly, disassembly, and troubleshooting using schematics and technical manuals for precise repairs. Conduct tire services, brake repairs, heavy lifting tasks, and perform welding or soldering work to restore equipment to optimal condition. Maintain detailed service records of all repairs performed; communicate effectively with team members to ensure safety standards are met. Qualifications Proven experience as a Diesel Mechanic with dealership experience preferred. Strong mechanical knowledge of diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics, suspension systems, and electrical diagnostics. Hands-on experience with construction machinery maintenance including excavators, cranes, forklifts, and farm machinery. Skilled in using hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, schematics reading, and diagnostic software for electrical and automotive systems. Ability to perform heavy lifting safely while working in various environmental conditions. Certification or training in diesel engine repair or heavy equipment servicing is highly desirable.
