Diesel Mechanic

All Truck Transportation is seeking Experienced Diesel Mechanics in Chicago, IL. Diesel Mechanics are responsible for diagnosing and repairing heavy-duty semi-tractors under minimal supervision. Repairs will include a wide variety of preventative maintenance in addition to any other duties assigned. Essential Functions: • Perform preventative maintenance, inspections & repairs • Complete air / hydraulic brake repairs • Drive train, steering & suspension maintenance • Perform electrical troubleshooting & electronic component repair • Repair AC & cab ventilation Other Duties and Responsibilities: • Assist other technicians in repairs • Comply with safety & EPA procedures • Continue to learn new technology in advanced diagnostics, internal engine & transmission repairs • All other duties assigned by management of the company. Minimum Requirements: 3+ years of diesel maintenance experience required Ability to work flexible schedule as needed • Must have valid driver's license and clean MVR (CDL a plus) • Possess own hand tools • Certification from Diesel Technical school preferred (brakes, AC &/or EPA, DOT inspections, transmissions, engines) Own tools, we will provide uniforms. 40-50 hours a week average. Compensation is based on experience.
